Plasma Ball

In the middle of this gas-filled sphere is an electrode that can be powered when connected to the electric grid. Thanks to the gases, the numerous colourful plasma filaments are constantly spreading out from the centre to the surface of the dome. Put your hand on the sphere (or close to it) and you can change the course of these electrical charges.

Backwards Scooter

It takes quite a bit of practice to learn how to ride a bicycle. You might think it would be easier to ride a scooter instead. But AHHAA’s backwards scooter is on a completely different level – one that could prove difficult for even the most skilled of cyclists. When you turn the handlebar in one direction, the front wheel of the scooter turns to the exact opposite. This exhibit will show you how skilled you really are!

Letter Puzzles

Even though we learn to write in early childhood, this exhibit will prove tricky for even the best of writers. To solve the puzzles, your linguistic skills won’t be as helpful as your visual thinking. Three different letters have been broken down to smaller pieces and it is your task to put them back together. You can test your skills with the letters T, H and M.

3D Tic-Tac-Toe

Everyone has played this game on a piece of paper, but taking on your opponent is completely different in 3D! This exhibit consists of 3 x 9 coloured balls (red, green and yellow). 2-3 people can play at time.

The aim of the game is similar to a regular tic-tac-toe: get three balls of the same colour in a row. What’s different, however, is that in AHHAA’s version of tic-tac-toe, you can create the rows in multiple different ways, using either one or all of the levels: from top to bottom, right to left or diagonally.

Wave Machine

Waves can move in water, in the air, and in the ground. We’re probably most familiar with the waves in water, as this is where they’re the most visible. However, when looking at a lake or sea, we usually don’t understand where the waves actually come from. This wave machine can easily show you how it happens. The machine is filled with mysterious fluids that move in slow motion, making it especially easy to observe the formation of the waves.

Price: 3000 €
Measurements: 80 x 204 x 162 cm

Rheoscopic Disk

Rheoscopic fluid is placed in a thin cylinder. When you spin the cylinder, the light that reflects from the fluid shows the formation of numerous whirls and spirals. Change the speed of spinning and the size and shape of whirls will change as well. This visually stunning blue exhibit is also a great favourite of our visitors, as each swirl is unique and every spin you create changes the look of the whole exhibit.

Price: 3000 €
Measurements: 70 x 70 x 85 cm

Interactive Sandbox

In this giant sandbox, you can shape the landscape just the way you want to: dig canals and lakes, pile up hills and mountains. A special computer program projects a real topographic map on the sand, so you can easily see how the locations and shapes of higher landforms and bodies of water are related to each other and how different landscapes are pictured on the maps.
